The Boy who dared by S.C. Bartoletti. Helmuth hubener is a hitler youth who spake up against hitler and then suffered the consequences. Helmuth lived with two brothers and his mom,their grandparents lived next door. They lived a mormon lifestlye and obeyed the rules of mormanism. Helmuth grew up during the time hitler's rise to power. At first he belived hitler when others family members didn't. During middle school his teachers and elementry teachers saw him as a leader, one who would stood out from the rest. His step father even said helmuth was going to serve the fatherland greatly.At first helmuth belived in hitler and all his actions, he even started his own fake detective agency and helped the german police solve one case. Then his brother Gerhard brought an illega shortwave radio. Curious, helmuth investigated. By listening to british radio, helmuth learn the truth. Everything the german radio said as a lie. The nazis said they never lost a battle. He knew rhe british weren't lying because they admited their own defeats. Quickly he invited his friends Karl an rudi. They made flyers about how hitler as lying. They put these flyers in phonebooths late at night. Then the gestapo cauth wind of Helmuth'operations. They questioned and the finally beat his friend names out of him. After that his was charged as an adult for high treason against hitler he was sent to prison then was killed by his death sentence. This book brouth me almost to tears on how sad the ending was. I would recomend this book to anybody who wants to know the german side of ww2.

Billy creekmore by tracey porter. Bill creekmore is about a young boy with the power to talk to spirits. Mrs.beadle the wife of the owner of the guardian angels orphanage, says thats why his mother died. living on it constantly he is afraid to use it. He also has another gift, storytelling. He casn twist the truth better than anybody, so any way i'm going to tell the summary right now. Billy lives his life at the Guardian Angels Orphanage. Life pretty much sucks there. Billy works really hard there and the gets fed poorly. His friend peggy often tries to put more food in the kids bowls. They go to church every sunday but the preacher calls all the orphans sinners.Mr.Beadle send kids off to the glass factory. Kids think its a great place to work but billy find about the truth of the even harder living there. Before he gets picked to work there his uncle comes to the rescue. The billy lives in holly glen a city devoted to mining. there he works as a mule skinner there. he quickly join a union then gets ambushed . The ambush killed his uncle. After that he moved out of holy glen to join the circus. After a while he meets his long lost father. Then he join the cicus his father is in and then becomes a conartist. Realizing that his father just wants him for the money. he rejoins the old circus I thought the book was amazing! The details are pretty good andthe story is riveting. I recomend tis book
